Founded by Caroline Woodham and Shannon Baker, Soulfeast received its
name because it conjures up the visual of one’s core essence, their soul,
feasting on what makes them thrive in the realm of travel and adventure.
Caroline and Shannon explain that their retreats are relaxed and fun, designed
to fill your soul and put a spring in your step. “So far, we’ve discovered we are
not ‘BS- ing’ people,” laughs Caroline. “We are lucky to have people come
back time and time again.”
When it comes to the Soulfeast Costa Rica Retreat in Playa Grande, attendees
enjoy daily yoga classes, beautiful sprawling beaches, surf lessons, scrumptious
meals, horseback riding, canopy tours, zipline adventures and more - all with a
unique Costa Rican flair. In addition, each attendee receives their own
personalized portrait session. “It’s outstanding to see the portraits of our guests.
Caroline captures the true essence of each and every person, their spirit and
happiness shines through in the photos,” says Shannon. So far, the Soulfeast

Last year’s yoga & surf retreat to Playa Grande, Costa Rica unfolded in a unique
way, as they all do, depending on the group. There were ambitious Mom’s with
their tween girls charging and soaking up life in Playa Grande. Surfing in the a.m.
and doing yoga in the laid-back afternoons helped to peak their curiosity for
more of what the Guanacaste region has to offer; Horseback riding through
local towns, fashion shoots on the beach, shopping in Tamarindo and quality
Mother-Daughter time. “It was so precious to see these guests take hold of the
reigns and go,” says Caroline.
Additional guests that joined Soulfeast Costa Rica last year were hard working
mothers and corporate business women who needed a much-deserved break
and just wanted to spoil themselves, feel the sand between their toes, sip the
local Costa Rican coffee on the playa at sunrise with no agenda and enjoy a
nice long exhale. They took to the water and the yoga studio like it was old hat;
throwing on a bikini and rash guard, playing in the warm ocean, eating delicious meals with tropical birds urging them to get seconds, chilling in hammocks, and exploring local towns, culture and shops. Everyone was game for an adventure
in the yoga studio and experienced “top drawer” instruction for all levels and
abilities. And the best thing - they got to do it all over again the next day - Pura
Vida style!
